چکیده

This paper presents a practical procedure for creating finite element (FE) model vibration analysis of cruise ships. The most preferable FE modelling approaches are studied and discussed through case studies common ship structures, which cover the range from low to high frequencies. application homogenized equivalent single layer (ESL) theory based stiffened panel is extended local forced analysis, where inertia induced interaction between plate stiffener occurs. Modal method used with an energy-based correction accounting plate-stiffener into modal properties. Case study results reveal that mesh density one 4-node per web frame spacing suitable global FE-model when limited hull girder modes. For such modes it sufficient only include membrane stiffness panels. investigating response at higher frequencies, bending properties should be included least two elements spacing. Then can performed excellent accuracy up frequencies about third natural stiffeners. Beyond that, influence becomes more significant in vibration, making ESL-theory limited. With applied method, validity ESL-model approximately thirds frequency.

A Simple Finite Element Procedure for Free Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Cracked Beam-Like Structures

In this study, a novel and very simple finite element procedure is presented for free vibration and buckling analysis of slim beam-like structures damaged by edge cracks. A cracked region of a beam is modeled using a very short element with reduced second moment of area (I). For computing reduced I in a cracked region, the elementary theory of bending of beams and local flexibility approach are...

Spectrally formulated finite element for vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam on Pasternak foundation

In this article, vibration analysis of an Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Pasternak-type foundation is studied. The governing equation is solved by using a spectral finite element model (SFEM). The solution involves calculating wave and time responses of the beam. The Fast Fourier Transform function is used for temporal discretization of the governing partial differential equation into a se...
